Creating more T-shirts and adding logos - 14/11/2022

Creating more T-shirts and adding logos Daisy Jackson / 14/11/2022 Today I printed out roughly 10 more T-shirts and added my logo to the sleeve and back of them. I had old T-shirts that I was planning to print on in the past which were size large, these acted as extra and one of a kind as they are all different colours. This allowed me to not spend as much money. There were slight issues regarding the transfer of the vinyl (once again) but after having a think and a break I came to a conclusion. Due to how easy the cheaper vinyl was sticking, I became confident and missed the step of heating the back - this was a mistake as it was a very important step and caused me to waste two T-shirts. I had to carry on with this step to see the results I wanted. After printing all these T-shirts out it will definitely be survival of the fittest as I am unsure how many of the designs will manage to stick to the T-shirts. This will be interesting. After this I will work on packaging!  I also have...

Finishing the cards 9/11/2022

Finishing the cards Daisy Jackson / 9/11/2022 Today marks the day where I finally finished the cards! I added the logos and all the front imagery to all 20.  The only main complication I had was the fact I ran out of the Cricut vinyl I had, I then ordered a cheaper alternative online which was not as good. It stuck well and worked, however, the whole process in regards to trasnferring the vinyl over to the trasnfer tape was extremely annoying and challenged my patience. However, despite these complications, the cards still turned out nicely and are branded well.  I am very happy with the results and am even happier that I have products to a good quality that I can sell! My next task will either be the prints or the T-shirts. I have printed off about 21 designs for the T-shrits (all the 'Priceless range') as well as my actual logo which I will put on the sleeve. Due to having good iron on vinyl I can now print the logo rather than just 'ESME.ARTIST' which I am very happy...

Creating the Winter Fair poster - 4/11/2022

Creating the Winter Fair poster Daisy Jackson / 4/11/2022 As part of the marketing for the Winter Fair, we have all been assigned the task to create a poster. To begin my idea generation, I created simple thumbnails innitial ideas. Here are my thumbnails: My final poster: I really love how this poster turned out. I really wanted to create a piece where the audience is being directly spoken to - which I did. Having a polar bear up close and filling the majority of the page captures your attention and has a humerous effect. It also looks as though it is actually speaking directly to you. Including the text bubbles adressing this further also helps accompany this.  I am happy with the colour choices as it is not too overpowering and sets the scene. I was really happy when I noticed that there was a snow effect on Procreate as this really helped emphasise the Christmas/Winter theme. It has all the needed details for the fair. I think looking at other student's posters also helped as it...

Creating my first batch of cards Daisy Jackson / 4/11/2022 These are the results of my first batch of cards: Card design #1: Card design #2: Card design #3: Card design #4: Coloured versions #1: Coloured version #2: Coloured version #3: Overall I have made around 13 cards. I have more printing out and will make these throughout the week before I tackle the prints and eventually the T-shirts and tote bags. I am extremely happy with the results as they look very professional and deliver the messages I want. These worked perfectly!

My card creation process - 4/11/2022

My card creation process Daisy Jackson / 4/11/2022 Because I was stressing about the T-shirts going wrong before, I decided to focus on creating the cards.  Here is my process: Here are the designs cut out via the Cricut. This is one of the designs with the excess vinyl removed so the design is present. I applied the transfer paper over the top and cut around it so that there was less tape to remove any of the card by accident (I noticed that some of the card was pulling away when peeling the trasnfer paper off).  I also applied the transfer paper to my T-shirt several times so it was not as sticky. This is also an image of all my designs with the transfer sheets accompanying them. After this I applied the vinyl to the cards. These are the results of the process.

Creating my T-shirts - problems have been solved - 4/11/2022

Creating my T-shirts - problems have been solved Daisy Jackson / 4/11/2022 As said previously I finally found out the reason that the vinyl was not transferring over to my T-shirts! It was because I was using Cricut branded vinyl which a lot of people had issues with. After changing this, all my shirts have printed perfectly and have actually been a faster process. Here is the process for my T-shirts: Here is the new iron on vinyl that I purchased from Amazon. Much cheaper and more to a roll - a win win! To get the centre of the T-shirt, I wore the shirt and placed some tape on the area I wanted it. Since I am mass producing, it would be too stressful for me to measure everything as I feel it would waste time when I have this method that works more perfectly and accurately.  After this, I turned the shirt over and heated the back as instructed on the Cricut heat guide. I then placed the printed vinyl over the top of the parcel tape. After this, I removed the parcel tape until I was...

Updating my final designs - 2/11/2022

Updating my final designs Daisy Jackson / 02/11/2022 After experiencing many difficulties when applying the vinyl to the T-shirt, I finally cracked what was wrong! I originally thought it was the fabric - being heavy cotton I thought that the vinyl was not applying well due to the texture - this was wrong. I then thought it was the colour of the vinyl as the heat press did not seem to compliment anything well other than black - I was wrong. Because of this, I then went for black vinyl. I ran out due to so much experimentation but found a test sheet of iron on vinyl in my beginner pack for Cricut - I thought because it was black it would work - for some reason I was wrong again. After speaking with Alice I found that for some reason Cricut vinyl does not work very well and many have experienced the same problems as me. I then decided to buy a cheaper alternative which worked perfectly with no complications. Before I realised this was the issue, I decided to change my chosen designs comp...
